I am just one of many who did not start out to be a "Pick" programmer. My first career was in Production Management. A layoff or two and a change of career was in order. In January of 1982 I was hired as a programmer for a trucking company in Salt Lake City, Utah. They were converting from a Basic Four system to Prime Information.
And so it began...
My last full time engagement at this point (April 2019) ended February 1, 2019 with Rocket Software, Inc. My MV career will probably finish off with consulting, until retirement looms large. :-)
